The Hairline Zone
What is the hairline zone?
The most crucial factor in designing a hair transplant is the hairline zone, which is an area approximately a quarter of an inch wide at the hairline.
Follicular Unit Micrografts taken from the finer hairs in the donor area allow an artistic hair transplant surgeon to recreate the soft and feathered appearance of a natural hairline.
Before deciding on hairline placement our hair transplant surgeon will carefully consider a number of factors.
Considerations taken before placement.
The hair transplant surgeon will consider the following factors: shape of the patient's face, age of the patient, hair shaft diameter, future hair loss and the patient's desires and expectations.
Old "Plug Surgery"
Many people who have already had plug surgery carried out without consideration to their future hair loss may have restricted their option for future surgery.
However, we can help to improve the appearance by using follicular unit micrografts to disguise the problems of these previous unnatural looking transplants.
Present day transplants
Present day follicular transplantation is a far cry from the tufted "doll like" appearance associated with surgery of yesteryear. Today's hair transplanation techniques result in a natural appearance.
